Warmest Seasons Greetings from Kirkpatrick Estate Winery
It's Christmas again and it's been an exciting few months since we have last been in touch.
The new Gisborne Wine & Food Festival at Labour Weekend was a winner providing the best of local wine and food, on a perfect East Coast sunshine filled day. The stunning single venue provided a winning formula for the revamped festival and feedback from festival goers has been overwhelmingly positive. Our 2009 Gewürztraminer and Wild Rosé were particularly popular with festival goers as we frantically kept refilling glasses.
The Gisborne Wine & Food Festival also saw the launch of our new and exciting label above. Featuring bold colours of black, red and white, the new label and branding represents the strength and integrity of the Kirkpatrick name.
The emphasis is now on the entire name, Kirkpatrick Estate Winery, and is represented by a big bold red 'K'. The label is a sensory experience, with the glossy textured red 'K' on a black background. The new design was cleverly created by Ben Galbraith, a local designer, famous for his unique children's stories and illustrations.
Come and check out our new website and stylish new label to order wine direct. Our website, www.kew.co.nz.
Along with the new label our 2009 range was also launched at the festival, which includes, the 2009 Reserve Chardonnay, the 2009 Merlot, the 2009 Gewurztraminer, the 2009 Wild Rose, our Gold Medal 2009 Reserve Malbec, and our 2007 Late Harvest Chardonnay. Our 2009 Reserve Malbec has been receiving fantastic accolades, and winning various medals, including Gold at the 2010 Royal Easter Show.
Our 2010 Reserve Malbec is looking even better in barrel and is soon to be bottled. We'll keep you posted and let you know when it's available for purchase.
The delicious 2009 Fortified Merlot has also just been bottled and is available now for Christmas.
Just give us a call, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we can deliver wine to your door within a couple of days. All you need to do is add in your name, address, number of bottles or cases, and we will email you back to set up payment and delivery.

2010 Season Diary
This summer we have had the assistance from backpackers from all over the world, and now the vines are shoot thinned, flower thinned and leaf plucked. The berries are pea size and the sheep have done an excellent job opening the canopy to sunlight and air flow. We'll also be putting nets out straight away to ensure protection from the birds well in advance of veraison.
